AHS Homecoming 2013
Abbeville High School Homecoming 2013 will be on Friday, October 11, 2013. The Yellow Jackets will be playing the Barbour County Jaguars. The theme for the week is “Jail the Jaguars,” and each day has an individual theme.
~The theme for Monday is “Jail the Jaguars.” The students and faculty should dress as a police officer or an inmate (orange or black & white stripes).
~Tuesday’s theme is “Tacky Tuesday.” The students and faculty are to dress “tacky,” wearing mixed-matched clothes.
~The theme for Wednesday is “Pajama-Wama Wednesday.” Students and faculty are to wear pajamas to school.
~Thursday is “Throw Back Thursday.” The dress for Thursday is 50’s-90’s style.
~Friday is spirit day. The students and teachers are to wear the AHS Homecoming Shirt or maroon, white, or gray.
Each day at break, the students will be involved in activities such as Relays, Fear Factor and Minute To Win It.
Each homeroom/classroom door will be decorated to support the Jackets. The doors will be judged by alumni on Friday morning, with the winning homeroom being awarded a surprise party.
Each grade level and club is responsible for decorating a float for the homecoming parade. The floats will be judged during the parade.
On Thursday, October 10, 2013, the Yearbook Staff will sponsor a Powderpuff Football game at AHS's Memorial Stadium. The game will begin at 6:00 p.m., featuring our ladies playing football & men cheering them to victory. A pep rally, led by AHS Cheerleaders, will follow the Powderpuff game.
On Friday, October 11, 2013, the Student Government Association(SGA) will host the homecoming assembly at 10:00 a.m. to announce the Homecoming Queen and her court and to recognize the Alumni from the classes ending in three (1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003, etc). The Homecoming Pep Rally, hosted by the AHS Cheerleaders, will immediately follow. The pep rally will include the Jacket Football team, AHS Cheerleaders, AHS Band, and skits performed by each grade level. Following the pep rally, the SGA will host a luncheon to honor the alumni. It will be held in the Home Economics classroom in the Career Tech Building. Any alumin planning to attend the luncheon will need to contact AHS at (334) 585-2065 or email email@example.com.
The AHS Homecoming Parade will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 2:00PM. Any educational, athletic, or civic organizations, church groups, and reigning queens are encouraged to participate. Parade entry forms may be picked up and returned to the AHS office, along with the $10 entry fee.
Pre-game festivities to crown the Homecoming Queen begin at 6:15PM at Memorial Stadium. Kick-off for the Homecoming Game will be at 7:00PM. Everyone is asked to come out and support the Jackets!!!
